How to Change Payment Method in the 8Dweb Portal

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for clients to change their payment method in the WHMCS 8 client area. Follow the steps below to ensure a smooth process.

Step 1: Log In to the Client Area

  1. Open your web browser and navigate to the the 8Dweb Portal at https://portal.8dweb.com 
  2. Enter your email address and password, then click the 'Login' button.

Step 2: Access the Billing Section

  1. Once logged in, locate the navigation menu.
  2. Click on 'Billing' or 'Invoices' from the menu options. 

Step 3: Manage Payment Methods

  1. In the Billing section, find and click on 'Payment Methods' or 'Manage Payment Methods' (the exact wording may vary depending on your WHMCS theme).
  2. You will see a list of available payment methods. These could include saved credit cards, PayPal, bank transfers, or other options configured by the administrator.

Step 4: Add a New Payment Method

  1. To add a new payment method, look for an 'Add Payment Method' or 'Add New' button.
  2. Fill out the required details for the new payment method:

   - For credit cards, provide the card number, expiration date, CVV, and name on the card.
      NOTE: 8Dweb does not store credit card numbers, only a Stripe Payment Gateway HASH.

   - For PayPal, you may need to log in to your PayPal account to authorize its use.

  1. Click 'Save' to add the new payment method.

Step 5: Set Default Payment Method (Optional)

  1. If you want to make the new payment method your default option:

   - Locate the list of payment methods.

   - Find the method you want to set as default and click the 'Make Default' button or toggle.

  1. Confirm your selection, if prompted.

Step 6: Update Payment Method for Existing Services

  1. To update the payment method for specific services or invoices:

   - Go to 'Services' or 'My Products/Services'.

   - Select the service you wish to update.

   - Locate the billing settings and change the payment method to the newly added one.

  1. Alternatively, for pending invoices:

   - Navigate to 'Invoices'.

   - Open the invoice you want to pay.

   - Select the new payment method from the dropdown list on the invoice page.

   - Click 'Pay Now' to finalize the change.

Step 7: Confirm the Changes

  1. Review all your payment settings to ensure the new method has been added and set correctly.
  2. Test the payment method by processing a small invoice or contacting support to verify everything is in order.

Troubleshooting

- Can’t Add Payment Method? Ensure that your account has no outstanding issues or restrictions. Contact support if the issue persists.

- Payment Method Not Accepted? Verify that your payment method is valid and supported by your WHMCS instance.

- Unsaved Changes? Double-check that you clicked 'Save' after adding or modifying your payment method.
